So what became DIFFERENT in my heart since that fated day when my attention was drawn to the Gambling Billboard?
I started out a MISFIT, then Jesus got ahold of me and He has started changing- my life, my outlook, my everything.
My DESIRE to SPEND MONEY has been taken AWAY and replaced with a ZEST to learn more about Him. I now desire to become more like Him. He wants me to. (That does not require me to be a Goody-Two-Shoes either. God knows we will fall, Jesus is here offering us Grace).
At times the DARKNESS does attempt to weasel its way back in, trying to cause more havoc in my life. The difference is that now I know how to combat it.
I just speak/yell the name JESUS!!!, (yes with gusto), out loud over the situation that is causing the darkness. (Usually the Devil meddling in things).
And guess what? The darkness FLEAS and I no longer have the desire to buy what I was wanting at the moment. The name of JESUS is powerful. The Devil has to flee at the name of Jesus. When the devil leaves he also takes away the sin you were going to commit with him. That is because sin can’t be present where the Lord is. That is why we surrender our sin to Jesus.
I am so thankful He didn’t give up on me during my stubbornness. I can’t change my PAST and what I’ve done, but I can definitely change my FUTURE! Go ahead, practice shouting “JESUS” at your darkness!!!
He has also sent me other Christians to come ALONGSIDE me and help me along my journey. My family, friends, and New Church Family are my SUPPORT system – which is very important. My pastor and my therapist are an integral part of my Jesus honoring healing team.
Maybe you have been reading through my blog and are THINKING-who is this Jesus that she is talking about, and how do I find Him? Do you desire a relationship with the One who has made all the DIFFERENCE in my life? It is a free gift called Grace. It is free to anyone who wants to believe and then receive.
JESUS—The one that makes me want to get up every morning, the one I now want to strive to be more like.
Jesus desires that all of us would make the decision to follow Him.
The AMAZING thing is that Jesus does not seek perfection in people when he chooses His followers. It is a hopeful moment to see that He chose ordinary men that were far from perfect as his Apostles. This leaves us with hope for ourselves.
I have done so many things wrong in my life and He still chooses to call me back to Him. I had been a PRODIGAL running away from Him for way too long. JESUS welcomes prodigals back home. I love this tender heart he has left me with after I ran back to him and asked for forgiveness. I forgot how good this felt. 💕I have a sense of peace that I haven’t had for so long now.
I, like the Apostles, am far from perfect; and that is okay. God never demanded we be perfect: that is why Jesus had to come.
I am still a Misfit, but I have rolled over into a new category. I am now one of God’s misfits. He calls me blessed. Now I am “THE BLESSED MISFIT”. Not perfect, but loved beyond measure.
Guess what! – even if you have messed up, no matter how badly, if you are willing to repent and ask for forgiveness, He will still welcome you home with open arms.
Even as Christians we are NOT PERFECT people, but we are his people! God knew we were not going to be perfect people, or he would have never sent us Jesus.
For help with SALVATION or Re-COMMITMENT to Him: Please click the link below to watch to an important video from Billy Graham. 8 short minutes that could totally change your life around. It did mine for sure and I want you to have the option to choose Jesus for yourself. It just might be the life changing experience you have been looking for!
I am definitely not a professional in the art of putting the “Good Word” out there, but I know it is majorly important to share with others about my JESUS!
If you just gave your life to Jesus, I encourage you to find a church if you have not been going to one. It is very important to have fellowship with other Christian people. They are our support system. Go ahead and tell them about your newfound salvation.
AMEN
