Winds of Change

Happy Sunday everyone.

Do you welcome change in your life with a positive attitude, or are you a little reluctant?

I know I myself can drag my feet a bit with change. This is why it is a good thing to have someone available to be there-to give me that boost I need to get started.

With change comes the possibility to really spread your wings and fly. To grow into something new and beautiful.

It is just that uncertainty that gets me. What if I fail?

What if?…..

What if I never try? Then I will have a 100% chance of never attempting to catch my dream and ride on the cloud 9 that goes with it.

I don’t know about you, but my life is ready for an enema. Ready for a 100% turn around. I am so excited to be starting at the beginning and re-writing my story.

I want to be able to share with others. To encourage them, lift them up, straighten their crowns.

Lord Jesus thank you for using me in any way you see fit. I am yours through and through.

A Godly Wife

I have been learning in therapy this week about the duties of a wife according to God. We can find a lot of information in the Bible on how both a wife and a husband should go about married life.

It isn’t always the easy way out, that is for sure.

This fleshly body of mine desires to put myself first, and not think of my husband before myself.

When I was reading my lesson this week, I admit I did quite a bit of crying as I realized that in all our years of marriage we have never successfully mastered much of the instruction that God has put in His plan for us.

This week marks a first for me in my new attempt to live more as a godly wife should.

Am I going to be perfect, absolutely not.

Whose Timing Is Perfect?

God is never early…never late… his timing is perfect.

We are the ones that make things difficult. Getting our worry wart on, wanting everything to happen right now.

See, the thing is that God can see the big picture of our lives, when we can only see the moment we a currently in (present). Yet we think we know better than God does.

We are constantly sending up prayers that say, “Lord we need it like right now ASAP.”

Do we not trust him?

Our prayers need to be more like “God help me to see that your timing is the best, most perfect, and ordained by You!

Why should I fear. You hear my prayers and want only good for me. Give me patience in the waiting, and faith to endure.“

That elated feeling

I love opening packages after I purchase items. When they arrive at my house I get an exhilaration that I believed was like no other.

It didn’t matter if the item I purchased was inexpensive, or more on the expensive side of the scale. I love the feeling I get when they arrive. Opening the box, moving the tissue paper aside to reveal my next treasure.

I was trying to fill an empty place in my heart with that elated, high, wonderful feeling that I get when opening a package.

My therapist asked me, “what do you think you would be missing if you stopped buying things”? My answer was that feeling of excitement.

She asked me if I have ever felt this feeling from anything else.

My answer was yes, I have. I feel this way when I am worshipping my Lord. When the Holy Spirit falls, and I feel free and happy.

I am working toward buying less, and filling my life with more time reading the Word and listening to Christian music. This is how I can meet Jesus on a personal level, and experience that happy, elevated feeling. It is honestly a better feeling than I could ever get from my purchases.

My Jesus. I love you. Help me to see that you can make me a more fulfilled person than I can on my own.

Our Furry Companions

I think it is amazing how God gave us pets to enjoy. I just watched one of our dogs looking out the window, going Bowooo as he watched his daddy leave. Then to see how he was sad for just a moment and then turned back into the happiest little guy you have ever seen. My dogs’s name is Ziggy. He is always a happy boy. He will set there for hours and just listen to you talk. He is the most attentive little guy I have ever seen.

Sometimes I wonder just how much the can understand when we are talking to them.

When we are sad, they can s use that and come over and lay by you. One of our other dogs, a beagle, will crawl up on your lap and attempt to give you kissies. Wet, sloppy ones.

God knew that we could use animals that knew how to cheer us up.

They are just the best aren’t they…

Christian Support System

I have heard others and believed myself at one time that there was no need to actually go into a church building.

I have heard it said that God is everywhere, and that He can be found anywhere. Which I believe these are true statements.

However, it is so important to have other Christians around and present to help give support and lift you up. It gives you someone to talk to when you need a friend. I was not getting this when I attempted to find the Lord at home or on my morning run. Yes the Lord was there, but other Christians were not.

I have recently joined two different Bible studies, (out of church time) as well, and I can’t believe the amount of support I feel. I have made new friends, and it is the best feeling ever!

I am a quiet, reserved person, and felt so out of place the first few times I went, but now I see why the Lord told me to sign up for the classes. He knew what he was doing, as He always does! I have even found myself blurting out answers all of a sudden during class. So out of my norm, but the Lord is opening me up and making me blossom in front of my new found friends.

I encourage you to find some new Christian friends as well. 😊

Can I trust Him?

How much do I trust God? Do I trust him with a little or a lot?

As I have gotten older and have grown in my walk with Jesus, I have definitely changed in how much I allow Him to control. Funny I say that, because I know that God has total control of how my life will play out. He is the only one that really, truly knows what tomorrow will bring.

I have learned through a troubled life, and difficult times to trust Him with more and more.

It is easy to look back and see how far He has brought me. He has brought me through some really tough stuff.

I know that things go better when I allow Him to guide me.

When I try to do things under my own power, it tends to get really messy.

Day by day I vow to work on trusting Him not only with the little stuff, but with the big stuff as well. To give over total control of my life to Him is my desire. To daily make the choice to say, “My life is yours Lord, let’s go.”

Picture Day

Today was an awesome, amazing, perfect day. I love those.

My husband fixed us breakfast and the coffee was spot on.

Today was special because my daughter is a senior in high school, and it was picture time.

This morning we went to the best Hair Wizard ever. Addie you rock! I watched the magic unfold right before my eyes, while my daughter was transformed from the young lady I know into a full on bombshell. Whoa! My daughter loves her hair so much that her heart is still singing its praises tonight. All she could do all day way touch it and say, “mom it is so soft, feel it.”

Then this evening turned into a whirlwind of picture taking. Different outfits, different locations, different props. I was along for the ride to see my beautiful daughter standing in the sunlight looking like an angel. It was like the Lord created the perfect light for her photo shoot. Our photographer, Shelby, has a special eye that just catches the heart and soul of her subjects. She knows how to make the subject come alive when you look at the picture.

Shelby never tired of taking more photos of our angel. She worked long and hard to capture the perfect ones. She did not waist God’s light.

I feel that by going around to all these hidden locations for the photo shoot, that I gained a piece of extraordinarity. There is just something about being out in nature. FREEDOM, FRESH AIR.

Thank you ladies for making the day perfectly special for my daughter.

A day that turned into a core memory for sure. 💜

Rest of Family Eventing – Part 2

The trip to the movie was fun everything went well. Got to watch a very good Beetlejuice movie. We had popcorn, drinks, candy, and all. How could that not be a perfect time.

the Applebees experience started off wonderfully. The food was great as usual and the drinks were spot on. It was lovely in the place. The atmosphere was great. The waitress had a hard time hearing our order. The manager had been over by our table talking and being nice to our table. He talked to us for 20 minutes. The good feeling quickly fell off into something negative. We were talking to our daughter in law trying encourage her to go up and talk the the manager. She was looking for a job and we saw an opportunity for her. He had just been at our table talking and joking with us. She definitely was against going back up to him, and my hasband and I kept telling her she was missing an opportunity to just go ask the question. I told her to quit running away every time she is scared, she continued to leave. I told her she was acting kinda baby like. She went on out to the car. Everyone else in Applebees by now were looking at our table. We had already paid, so we excused ourselves.

We all just went out and talked together outside for a bout an hour. We were to loud and made a scene in Applebees. A lot of apologies were made. We didn’t handle this with Grace- God’s grace. Then went on to do the rest of our shopping.

My daughter in law told me a reason she didn’t want to work in Applebees. I asked her, why didn’t you tell us that in there instead of running away. I guess she has to feel safe to share something’s. 💜
